The renovation consisted of refreshing the secondary lobby and transforming the adjacent secondary unused dining room into a modern, spacious fitness center. In the lobby, a new space plan was created to merge some of the owner/s existing pieces with fresh, new custom seating and casegoods. New paint, wallcovering, artwork, lighting, area rugs and accessories were selected to match the property’s traditional architecture. In the fitness center, the layout was re-worked to create the new function of the space. Custom millwork was created to meet the owner’s particular request to leave the existing wood elements but update the look and use. A themed mural was designed, along with the selection of new exercise equipment, wall and window coverings, paint, storefront glass and floor covering.
The guestrooms were renovated to create an inviting and relaxing space for guests. The updated scheme helped lighten and brighten the space while keeping the traditional design style intact.
The scope included refreshing five meeting rooms with custom carpet, new wallcovering, paint, lighting and artwork. The hotel’s existing color palette and traditional design elements were incorporated, while keeping the new design fresh and current. The artwork and light fixture selections were inspired by the Ayres family’s love of sailing and water.
